이 가영

안녕하세요, 저는 영국에 있는 UCL (University College London) 에서 역사를 전공하고 (학사과정) 현제 같은 대학교에서 경영을 (석사과정) 공부하고 있습니다. 초등학교 2학년 부터 두바이에서 인터네셔널 학교에서 IB를 준비하는 교육 과정을 완수 했고, 고등학교 10학년 중간 부터 졸업 하는 12학년까지 한국에 있는 외국인 학교에서 IB 과정을 완성 했습니다. 어려서 부터 영어와 국제적인 교류에 많은 노출이 되었기 때문에 인문학 쪽에 관심을 가지게 되어 대학에서 역사를 배우기로 결정 했습니다. Greetings, I graduated from UCL (University College London) with a BA History degree, and I am currently studying Management at UCL School of Management. Since second grade, I’ve prepared for the IB diploma at an international school in Dubai. I have achieved the IB diploma at an international school in Korea, which I have attended for my last three years of high school. My experience as an international student, and frequent exposure to English and international relationships influenced me to gain interest in the study of humanities, and thus to pursue education as a history major in university.

고등학교 시절에 봉사 활동으로 서울에 있는 복지 센터에서 초등학생들을 상대로 영어를 가르쳤습니다. 말하고 읽기와 글쓰기를 번갈아 가며 아이들이 다양한 분야에서 영어를 배울수 있도록 수업 일정을 짰습니다. 더불어 대학 생활 도중에 1:1 과외를 통하여 학생의 시험 준비와 과제에 도움을 주는 동시에 학생이 주도적으로 과제를 완성 할수 있도록 수업을 진행했습니다. 또한 수업은 아니지만 한국어 책을 영어로 번역하는 요청을 받아 과거와 현제 번역하는 작업을 진행하고 있습니다. 앞으로 더 많은 경험과 경력을 쌓아가며 더욱더 발전하는 선생님이 되길 바랍니다. I have experience teaching English to elementary school students as a volunteering tutor when I was in high school. I taught them speaking, writing, and reading skills, planning each lesson so that they could learn different aspects of English throughout the programme. Furthermore, through a one on one tutoring during my time in university, I’ve provided guidance in preparation for exams and important assessments, in addition to encouraging the student to complete the task alone. Finally, although not a teaching experience, I’ve been involved in translating Korean into English, in the format of two books and a website, in the past as well as in the present. I hope to be able to build upon my experiences and teaching background to continue developing as a proficient mentor.
